The High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned until Tuesday, October 31, 2023, the case of corruption in which the deputy President of the Malawi, Saulos Chilima, is accused of accepting a bribe from Zunneth Sattar.

This has come when the Government Adviser on Legal Affairs Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda failed to appear in court in Lilongwe on Thursday where he was expected to explain the reasons why the Malawi Defense Force refused to provide evidence documents to the Ant Corruption Bureau ACB on the matter of corruption.

According to the decision given by Judge Redson Kappindu, the case should have continued yesterday in court because the court did not order the Attorney General to appear before the court because he could have given the responsibility to other lawyers in his office.

Meanwhile, Judge Redson Kapindu has adjourned the case until October 31 this year saying that the government has requested that it needs enough time to prepare its response to the reasons why it refused to submit to the ACB the documents of evidence
