Malawians to experience 13-hours blackout during the weekend

The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has announced that there will be 13-hour blackout from Saturday 21st October to Sunday 22nd October 2023.
According to a statement released by ESCOM states that its major supplier, Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) EGENCO, will be conducting maintenance works at Nkula A and B power stations.
“The outage has been necessitated by power supply deficit due to maintenance works which our major supplier, EGENCO will undertake at Nkula A and B Power stations,” reads part of the statement.
