Police in Karonga have arrested a 20 year old woman on suspicion that she stole a 3 year old girl at Nyungwe trading centre in the district.
Deputy Police Publicist at the station, Sergeant Gersom Mwale has confirmed the arrest of Violet Nyasulu in an interview with the press.
Sergeant Mwale added that the suspect is said to have cheated caregivers at a certain nursery school at Nyungwe trading centre that she was sent by the girl’s parents to take the victim to a tailor.
The Police Publicist explained that the girl’s father did not find her when she brought food hence forcing police to institute an investigation.
Violet Nyasulu hails from Kambuha village in the area of Traditional Authority Mtwalo in Mzimba district.
