Principal Meteorologist James Pagona has told Rumphi district to expect to receive normal and below rains hence people should expect occurrence of natural disasters such as dry spell and floods in some parts of the district.
The department of climate change and Meteorological services has asked Rumphi district council authorities and communities about the same, to make use of the seasonal rainfall to avoid natural disasters in their district.
The council’s Director of Agriculture, Hastings Malumbo Nyirongo said that the meeting will help the district to prepare properly for the rain.
