The Lilongwe Senior Resident’s Court has sentenced 56- year- old Jickson Nkhoma to 20 years imprisonment for having sex with a minor.
According to government prosecutor, Kephace Mwangonde said Nkhoma who works at Msambachikho school told the authorities at the school that he will pay school fees for the girl since her parents failed to settle the fees due to financial problems.
Later on, that day in the afternoon Nkhoma called the girl to his house where he defiled her.
Nkhoma pleaded guilty to the crime, but he asked not to be given big sentence saying that he is the breadwinner in his family and it is the first time he has broken the law.
