Three women suspects accused spreading false rumours implicating Kunkuyu in Witika’s murder granted bail
The Blantyre Magistrates Court has granted bail to three women including a police officer, Inspector Susan Kachinga, after their arrest on Monday on suspicion that they created and circulated false and malicious information on the ongoing investigations of murder cases of Allan Witika.

Witika, an employee of Coca-cola Beverages was found dead and his body was found dumped in the backseat of his car in area 15 in Lilongwe.

On Friday last week police arrested Lester Maganga, a personal assistant to Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu.

Following the arrest many people especially social media users created theories linking Kunkunyu into the murder of Witika. Theories resulted in the arrest of the three women.

Chief Resident Magistrate, Chisomo Msokore, when presiding over the matter ordered each of the three suspects to pay a cash bond of K100,000 and K80,000 non-cash bond for two sureties of each suspect.

Police arrested Inspector Susan Kachinga, Mercy Chiligo and Chipiliro Kalima after social media was awash with information Police say is false and malicious.

The three are answering charges of cyberbullying and defamation of character, which are crimes under the Electronic Transactions and Cyber Security Act, and Penal Code, respectively.
