Three policemen are in police custody in Nkhotakota, on suspicion that they seized and sold 800 kilograms of marijuana.

Peter Kalaya, who is the spokesperson for the police in the country, confirmed the matter saying the investigation found evidence that the three had indeed committed the injustice.

The three are Inspector Nelson Gulani, Sub Inspector Milward Chakumanika and Sergeant Robert Kapalamula.

Kalaya said that the three will be prosecuted for abuse of their position.

It is understood that the police confiscated the cannabis from a trader in Dwangwa, two weeks ago.
