Hundreds of people, Sunday gathered at Luwerezi in the area of Traditional Authority Mabilabo in Mzimba to pay their last respect to Malawi News Agency (Mana) journalist, late Wisdom Ngwira who died on Saturday at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre.
Ngwira who died at the age of 35, previously worked as Assistant Information Officer in Nkhata Bay and later as Acting District Information Officer for Mzimba North, at the time of his demise, he was serving as a reporter at Mana Headquarters in Lilongwe.
In his eulogy, Regional Information Officer for North, George Bulombola who represented Ministry of Information and Digitalization, described the death of late Ngwira as a big loss to the Ministry.
” The Ministry is shocked and distressed with the passing on of our colleague. He was a hardworking and exceptional officer. He was a prolific feature writer. It’s hard to train and nurture such rare talent,” said Bulombola.
Ndirande Newlines Block Leader who was among those that escorted the deceased remains from Blantyre, Martin Msoma described the death of late Ngwira as tragic and untimely.
“Late Ngwira was still at prime of his life to contribute to the development of the country. I am shocked with his death, he has died young and had a bright future ahead of him,” said Msoma.
