Mobile Money agents in Blantyre are shutting down their booths in an attempt to push operators TNM and Airtel to revise their commissions on various transactions.
They have shut down Bangwe and are now heading to Limbe.
A representative of the agents in Blantyre, Morgan Stephan Mwafilaso, says this will be a nationwide, week-long closure until the mobile network operators (MNOs) address their concerns.
Mwafilaso claims this drastic action follows deafening silence from the two MNO’s, the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) and the Reserve Bank of Malawi, since last year.
