Information reaching this publication indicates that Unemployed Nurses and Midwives together with unemployed Primary School Teachers have postponed the vigil which was slated for November 9, 2023 at Capitol Hill over President Lazarus Chakwera’s trip to Saudi Arabia.

The disgruntled nurses and teachers wanted to hold vigils at Capitol Hill with an aim of forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to hire them permanently.

Publicity Secretary for the Joint Unemployed Nurses and Midwives and Primary School Teachers grouping Lucius Gerald has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Gerald, the vigils will be held when President Chakwera returns from the summit.

Almost 5000 Nurses and Midwives are currently unemployed while more than 10,000 Primary School Teachers (ipte 13 to 17) are unemployed.
