The chances of Red Lions to stay in the TNM super league is getting smaller and smaller as they now need to win by 13 goals when they meet Moyale Barracks in the final match.
The Zomba based soldiers drew 1-1 against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Balaka Stadium on Wednesday and Ekwendeni Hammers’ victory over Civo United, has made their chances to survive slim.
The result means they have 29 points from 29 games, with a maximum of 32 points, they are already out of favor as Mafco, with three games in hand, have 32 points.
The team’s deputy coach, Chifundo Masapula, who at this time did not know the results of other games, said there are still chances that they can survive.
“We don’t know how our friends will play, but if they lose, when we play our last game against Moyale, will go with all our strength to do well.” Said Masapula.
The reds are one game from confirming their relegation to the Premier Division for the second time in five years.
