In Mwanza, a 29-year-old man named Wedewede Mphatso Wilson has been apprehended by the police for possessing assorted government drugs without proper documentation.

The arrest occurred at the border as Wilson was attempting to travel to the Republic of South Africa.

Deputy Public Relations Officer Ritta Mchecheta revealed that among the drugs confiscated were bottles of ARVs and Bactrim, which are yet to be valued.

Wilson, a resident of Labson village in Balaka district, now faces charges related to the illegal possession of government medical supplies.

The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
