In Mzuzu an unknown pedal cyclist, has died after being hooked by motor vehicle registration number MJ8132/KK3787 ScaniaTruck driven by Mr Enock Sevison aged 43.
The accident occurred on November 12, 2023 around 17:15 hours at Katoto bus stage along Mzuzu-Chikangawa M1road.
It has been known that on the said date and time Enock Sevison was driving his truck from Katoto round about heading Mzuzu Reserve Bank along Mzuzu Chikangawa Road.
As he was passing by Katoto bus stage he hooked and run over a pedal cyclist who was cycling heading the same direction.
Following the impact, the cyclist sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mzuzu Central Hospital.
The motor vehicle as well as pedal cycle had no damage.
Mzuzu Police Station is therefore advising all road users to always adhere to road safety measures, have the courtious of sharing the road with other users and avoid over-speeding.
