Some Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters have threatened to obtain a court injunction restraining the party leader Peter Mutharika from addressing Malawians.

Fredrick Malata Deputy Director of Political Affairs for DPP said it is unfortunate for Muthalika to hold a media briefing when he is failing to call for a meeting with the secretary general to iron out grievances.

Malata said the supporters will obtain an injunction against the presser if the leadership will proceed without considering the demands given.

Mutharika is scheduled to address Malawians on the recent devaluation of the kwacha which has seen a rise in the prices of commodities on the market.

The address is scheduled for this coming Friday.
