Malawi Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has withdrawn the renewal of a Commercial Domestic Inter City Courier Licence issued to Ankolo.com for failing to settle financial obligations under the license.
According to the press release signed by Director General of MACRA, Daud Suleman, Ankolo.com was supposed to pay more than K5m as tax to prepare another license by October 20 this year, which the company has failed to fulfill.
“Ankolo.com was required to pay a levy amounting to K5,713,140.00 by 20th October 2023 as a conditional for the renewal of license. This condition was not satisfied, hence the withdrawal of the license,” reads part of the statement.
This means that from now Ankolo.com is not authorized to carry out its business in Malawi.
