McNovas Sabuneti, the prime suspect in the murder of former Rumphi North parliamentarian Joshua Mzembe, faced formal charges today.
Third Grade Magistrate Aaron Ng’ambi has advanced the case, committing it to the high court for a comprehensive trial.
The alleged murder took place on November 2, 2023, in Ngolowera village, Mulanje district, with Sabuneti accused of killing Mzembe.
Mzembe’s body, discovered half-buried last week, was exhumed on Monday for proper burial in Rumphi.
The legal proceedings mark a significant development in the investigation into Joshua Mzembe’s tragic death.
