Opposition Socialist Party President Dr Fred M’membe has been arrested in Zambia over an interview he had with a Zimbabwean Journalist Musorowegomo Nukosi immediately after this year’s Zimbabwean elections.

M’membe has confirmed of his arrest in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.

“I have been arrested and charged with Espionage for what I said in this interview I had with Zimbabwean journalist Musorowegomo Nukosi immediately after this year’s Zimbabwean elections,” wrote M’membe.

He then hailed former President Edgar Lungu for solidarity support.

“We appreciate the show of solidarity from my brother Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the Patriotic Front leaders and members,” he added.

M’membe has been charged with the count of Espionage
