President Dr Lazarus Chakwera, has announced that he has suspended his foreign trips starting from onwards until next year.
Chakwera made the announcement yesterday during the national address, saying the government needs to make some painful adjustment until the economy of Malawi becomes productive.
“We need make some adjustment in speeding and prioritize those areas that are most productive, until our economy becomes profitable again.
“All my international trips between now and the end of fiscal year, beginning with my trip to cop 28 at the end of this month have been cancelled, Said Chakwera.
The Malawi leader also ordered that inappropriate meetings of government workers that waste money should end.
The announcement has come at a time where Malawians are enduring the pain of 44% devaluation of Kwacha that the government announced last week
