Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Midfielder, Chimango Kayira has hailed the decision of Flames coach, Patrick Mabedi on rejecting Gabadinho Mhango to join the flames in Liberia after missing his flight on Tuesday.

Kayira wrote this on his official Facebook account, saying Mhango being a senior player for the national team, could have done better.

“Being a senior player for the national team, he should have shown a good example by beating all the factors that made him delay. If we are to call a spade by its name – It is indiscipline to miss time for your flight when you had your travel arrangements a couple of days before departure date.

“I salute Patrick Mabedi’s bold call to have the striker apologize or be left out of the squad. Remember we have youngsters in the team that look up to Gaba as their idol and what message would it carry if the striker’s indiscipline gets condoned, wrote Kayira.

After Mhango missed his flight on Tuesday, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) reportedly made fresh arrangements for the player to travel to Monrovia, but Coach Mabedi refused based on disciplinary issues.

Meanwhile, Mhango intends quitting flames, saying missing a flight is not indiscipline.

The Moroka Swallows Striker is yet to play under Patrick Mabedi’s mentorship, His last appearance in Flames jersey was on March 28 when Malawi lost 4-0 to Egypt.
