Police in Mzuzu are keeping in custody, two men identified as Gift Muyaba, 27 and Victor Khonje 25 for impersonating police officers and being found with Malawi Police Uniform.

On November 16, 2023 at Enkhucweni area within Ekwendeni trading center, the suspects went to a house of a business lady and introduced themselves as police officers from Ekwendeni police unit investigating illegal businesses. One of the suspects was putting on a Malawi Police reflective jacket.

The woman was not convinced with their strange behaviour and failure to answer questions put to them and hence she called the Police who rushed there and arrested the suspects.

The suspects will appear before court soon to answer charges.

Gift hails from Bonga Muyaba village in the area of traditional authority Kampingo in mzimba and Victor hails from Magaga village traditional authority Jalavikuwa in Mzimba.
