Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President is today scheduled to address Malawians on the recent devaluation of the kwacha.
The address comes amid infighting in the party with some party members threatening to obtain an injunction restraining Mutharika from speaking.
The grouping claims that Mutharika instead of finding solutions to challenges rocking the party is busy addressing challenges rocking the country.
Mutharika’s address is scheduled to centre on the economic down-turn and other challenges rocking the country as a result of the 44 percent devaluation of the kwacha.
The devaluation of the kwacha has seen a sharp rise in prices of basic commodities on the market.
