Concerned Malawians led by well-known human right activist Bon Kalindo have taken to the street in Blantyre to protest against the recent 44 percent devaluation of the kwacha by the Tonse Alliance government of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

The protest has attracted heavy presence of armed police officers.

The protesters are also against the implementation of this year’s Affordable Inputs Program which has seen many families being left out.

Speaking to the press Kalindo said Malawians are facing challenges to feed themselves and their dependents due to the rise in prices of goods and services.

Kalindo accused Chakwera of failing to manage the country’s economy hence calling for his immediate resignation.
