Bedbugs have wrecked havoc at Rumphi Secondary School in the North with learner spending a sleepless night for sometime now.
Head mistress of the school Rejoice Chavula has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chavula, the learners at the school unable to sleep at night because of the bed bugs and that is making them to doze off in class during lessons.
“We want the school to find a quick solution to the problem so that we should not miss a lot of lessons because we do not have enough sleep at the end we sleep in class and miss lessons,” Chavula said.
The head master of the school Elias James has acknowledged the problem, but he has said that the school authorities have been spraying the hostels with chemical, but it seems the problem it is not ending so they will see what to do to help the students.
Male students are the most affected.
