Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa has alleged that he has information that there is an aeroplane coming from Israel and is expected to land at Kamuzu International as a cargo plane but will leave the country as a passenger plane with 221 Malawians.

He suspects that Israel is the country that Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda referred to when he said Malawi has a labour export agreement with a certain country.

Nankhumwa said alot is being said about Malawians being sent to Israel. He went on to say some are alleging that the Malawians are being sent to work in estates while others say they are going to join the Israeli war against Hamas.

He therefore called for the Minister of Labour to provide labour agreement that is there between Malawi and Israel.

However, Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda has described Nankhumwa’s remarks as irresponsible. He has asked Nankhumwa to bring evidence that the country is sending people to join the Israeli war or else, he should withdrawal the statement.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo has also called on Nankhumwa to withdraw the statement.

Taking his turn, Minister of Trade Sosten Gwengwe says the remarks by Nankhumwa puts the country at risk.
