Police in salima is keeping in custody a 22-year old man for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing a Samsung plasma and a home theatre, valued at K550,000 in Salima.
Spokesperson for Salima Police  Rabecca Ndiwate has identified the suspect as Yusuf Amidu who hails from Chaima Village, Traditional Authority Pemba,in the district.
According to Ndiwate, a certain family woke up some morning only to discover that the sitting room window was wide open.
It further said that the Samsung Plasma screen and a home theatre were stolen.
“Immediately, intelligence collection investigations were instituted, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
“He was found keeping the same stolen items in one of the rest rooms at Kamuzu Road, and he confessed to have committed the offence,” explained Ndiwate.
The suspect will appear in court soon to answer charges of Bulgrary and Theft.
