Information reaching this publication indicates that estranged Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey is scheduled to address Malawians.
Jeffrey wa Jeffrey’s address comes as the 90 days court order for the party to hold its elective conference is about to expire.
In September this year, the court order the party to hold its elective conference by December following a lawsuit by the party’s Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa.
“The five years’ mandate of the current office bearers of the defendant’s National Governing Council and Central Committee has expired. Surprisingly, the July 2023 NGC meeting was bent on favouring the incumbent party president at the expense of complying with the court order. It was a sham and a threat to intra-party democracy,” reads part of the ruling.
