Information reaching this publication indicates that the High Court has rejected an application by some Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) gurus who wanted the court to block the National Governing Council (NGC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey has called for NGC meeting where among other things delegates will set a date for the court sanctioned elective conference.

But some top officials are against the move, forcing DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba, Chipi Mpinganjira, Jean Mathanga and Thom Kamangira to seek court relief on the matter.

Delivering his ruling Judge Justice Simeon Mdeza said: “injunctions must be of merit in nature and save the incoming danger. In this case, there is no danger as the judgement still stands.”
