Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have warned the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) that they will report them to FIFA if they fail to handle their appeal properly.

The development has come after Fam ordered wanderers to honor their second leg match against Silver Strikers in the Airtel Top8 which is scheduled to be played today at Kamuzu Stadium.

According to Chief Executive Officer of wanderers, Roosevelt Mpinganjira, the team maintains their appealing against FAM’s determination.

“It is in our considered view that the fate of the 1st leg match shall be determined by the FAM Appeals Committee and therefore pending hearing and determination of our forthcoming appeal, the second leg must be postponed,”

“Should you insist that the 2nd leg fixture be played…we shall remain without any viable option apart from refusing to honour the 2nd leg fixture,” said Mpinganjira in a statement.

FAM, Chief Executive officer, Alfred Gunda, yesterday issued a letter saying that todays match will be played as scheduled.

FAM through its Competitions Committee, fined the Nomads K22.4 million and handed them a 2-0 loss to Silver Stricker for damages at the Bingu National Stadium and game abandonment respectively.
