Bishop Montfort Sitima has said that it seems that the country has two countries now, one opposition which is against government and the other one is the ruling.
He expressed regret that the leaders of the opposition who were invited to the prayers did not come.
“We invited them to come but they did not show up, maybe they are waiting that they should be in government so maybe they will do prayers,” said Sitima.
He said this at a player ceremony for the country, that president Lazarus Chakwera called at the BICC in Lilongwe today.
The Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima, former Vice president Khumbo Hastings Kachali and others dignitaries including traditional leaders participated in the prayers.
The prayers were held under the theme “Malawi a Hopeful and Resilient Nation.”
