The Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire (ADUS) will elect its new Bishop on 14 December 2023, instead of 12 December as earlier communicated.

This is according to communication from the Vicar General of the Upper Shire Reverend Canon Grant Timpunza Tebulo, addressed to all the faithful in the Diocese, on instruction from the Church’s Archbishop of the Province of Central Africa, Dr. Albert Chama.

“Owing to flight challenges, the Archbishop has instructed that elections of the next Bishop of the Upper Shire be held on Thursday 14 December instead of Tuesday 12 December,” it reads in part.

The new Bishop will replace Brighton Vita Malasa who was excommunicated from the Church for allegedly not observing the constitution and canons of the Church.
