Information reaching this publication indicates that Thomas Senganimalunje has been appointed as Deputy Director General of the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS).

The appointment of Sanganimalunje is with effect from Nomber 1 , 2023.

This has been confirmed in a statement made available to this publication.

Mr. Thomas Senganimalunje, who holds a Masters in Physics, joined the Malawi Bureau of Standards in November, 2011 as the Director of Metrology Services Department. He was the first Director to head the Department as it was newly established. He was later appointed as the Acting Director General of the Malawi Bureau of Standards in October, 2022 and served in that position up to February, 2023.

Before joining the Malawi Bureau of Standards, Mr. Thomas Senganimalunje was a lecturer in Physics at Chancellor College (now University of Malawi) from 2002 to 2011. He served as Head of Physics Department for two terms.

Through his experience while serving as the Director of Metrology Services Department at the Malawi Bureau of Standards, he has accumulated and demonstrated extensive strategic, liaison, leadership, management and operational skills in Standardization, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Metrology (SQAM) matters. These attributes will help the MBS achieve its strategic goals as he takes charge of the roles in the office of the Deputy Director General.
