Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have booked a place in the last four of the Castel Cup after beating Moyale Barracks 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

The nomads started the match on a high note as they were first on the ball and created a number of goal scoring opportunities.

Misheck Botomani scored a first half brace to give the Lali Lubani Road outfit a 2-0 deserved lead after the first 45 minutes.

In the second half Moyale pressed for the equalizing goals, but wanderers defense was very solid and contained the pressure to protect their lead.

Super substitute, Vincent Nyangulu put the game beyond Moyale’s reach, in the 75 minutes after connecting well to Stanley Sunudi’s corner to make it 3-0.

In a post-match interview, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Coach, Mark Harrison, said that they could have won the match with a big margin but he was happy for the victory.

“We could have won the match with 5 goals to nil, we created a number of goal scoring opportunities but we did not utilize them but it was a cup game and I am happy that we are through to the semifinals,” said Harrison.

Meanwhile Moyale Barracks Coach, Victor Chingoka said though they lost the match but his players showcased a beautiful football.

“We have lost the game but I must applaud my players for their good performance. In the first half we dominated but poor communication between the defenders costed us but it happens in a football match,” Chingoka said.

The win means that wanderers have joined Bangwe All Stars in the semifinals but will play against the winner between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Ekwendeni Hammers.
