A court ruling has excluded 39 delegates from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) national governing council meeting at Nkopola in Mangochi.

The secretariat’s roll call indicates the presence of 45 members, including three vice presidents representing the south, central, and northern regions.

Notably absent from the event are party’s former secretary general Grezeldar Jeffrey and former DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa, despite their invitations.

The NGC meeting, organized by Jeffrey wa Jeffrey, had earlier resolved to hold an elective conference this Friday.

Party president Peter Mutharika is presiding over the ongoing meeting.
