A man in Zomba has been arrested for attempting to smuggle 99 SIM cards into Zomba Central Prison.
Zomba Police spokesperson Patricia Sipiliano confirmed the incident, revealing that the suspect, Tamanda Sulumba, hid 97 Airtel and two TNM SIM cards in a body lotion container during a visit to a fellow inmate.
The arrestee now faces charges of introducing prohibited materials into the maximum-security prison.
