Lilongwe Police Station has arrested Amos Katengeza, 27, (brother), for being suspected of masterminding and taking an active part in the brutal murder of Agnes Katengeza, 44, who untill her death was a Network Administrator at the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Lilongwe, whose body was found dumped in her own official Sportage car, registration number BY 4159, that was parked behind Gateway Mall by her assailants on September 24, 2023 at around 13:00 hours.

According to Lilongwe Police station Spokesperson Inspector Hestings Chigalu Police have also recovered various items that were stolen from late Katengeza, before and after her brutal death, that include ENVY HP laptop, Iphone 13 min cellphone, Ipad, Power bank, an expand lugguage and a carton that contained cosmetics.

Driven by winds of intelligence, a team of Area 3 Police detectives went to Blantyre a week ago, tracing an iphone 6, that was stolen from the house of late Katengeza, almost four months prior to her brutal murder incident.

Chigalu says whilst in Blantyre, the team took for questioning a cellphone technician who acknowledged receiving the said iphone 6, and said that he wiped out the gadget’s icloud account bearing late Katengeza’s name, upon advice from the suspect.

After further grilling, he later revealed to have also received from the suspect, an Iphone, iPad and laptop, for the similar task, gadgets that also had Katengeza’s names.

During the time of his arrest after days of manhunt, upon search the suspect was found with an iPad and a power bank, these are some of the items that were stolen from late Katengeza during the time of her gruesome murder.

The team later recovered ENVY HP laptop from a certain businessman within Blantyre market, who also claimed to have acquired the gadget from the suspect.
