Yesterday, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) president, Peter Mutharika, held a caucus for its members of parliament at Page House.

During the closed-door meeting, Dr. George Chaponda was named the chairperson for the DPP elective conference scheduled for December 26–27 in Mangochi.

Following the caucus, Chaponda revealed that approximately 2000 delegates from their 2018 conference would be summoned for the upcoming event.

Notably, at least 40 DPP legislators participated in the session at PAGE House in Mangochi.

Lastly, Mutharika asked his legislators to be the unifying factor in the party.

“If not me, then nobody else’s attitude is wrong. Let us work together to build the party and not destroy it” said Mutharika
