On the night of November 5, Louis Njobvu was discovered unconscious a few meters from his Machinjiri home in Blantyre, and despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Deputy spokesperson Chibisa Mulimbika of Limbe Police Station informed that a murder investigation ensued, leading to the arrest of 32-year-old Steven Jatali on December 17, 2023.
During the arrest, Jatali was found in possession of a Tecno Spark 3 mobile phone, which was subsequently identified by the deceased’s wife as belonging to her late husband, Louis.
The suspect, hailing from Nsomba Village in Traditional Authority Nyambi, Machinga District, is now facing charges related to the alleged murder.
Steven Jatali is expected to appear before the court of law soon, where he will answer for the accusations surrounding the tragic death of Louis Njobvu in Machinjiri.
