As one way to show ownership and responsibility of taking care of Phalombe hospital, the hospital committee on Monday donated hospital equipment to promote hygiene.
These tools include scrubbers, soaps, brushes and plane papers that worth 335 thousand Malawi kwacha.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the hospital committee, Ignitious Jombo said he saw the need to provide that support in order to reduce the small problems the hospital is facing by using the money collected from the bicycle storage area outside the hospital.
After receiving the aid, one of the nurses at the hospital, Thomas Tsonga thanked the committee’s action in providing the aid which he said will help in reducing some of the problems that the hospital is facing.
The deputy chairman of the district council who is also the councilor of the area where the hospital is located, Simon Abraham said that other committee and people in the district should take example of what the committee has done in taking care of the development that the government provides to their areas.
The event was attended by representatives of the paramount chief Kaduya, the deputy chairman of Phalombe council, the head of the VDC and ADC committee, staffs of the hospital and the committee of the hospital.
