Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC have accepted ruling by appeals committee of Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to pay a sum of K22 million after being found guilty of damaging properties at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe during the Airtel Top 8 Match against Silver Strikers.

According to the letter issued by Wanderers board secretary, Chancy Gondwe, they will not appeal against FAM Appeal Committee verdict even though they wanted to appeal to Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

“Kindly be advised that wanderers have accepted the ruling being a ruling by the court of last instance. Though we intended to escalate the issue to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, we feel like we must accept this ruling in the interest of football in this country,” reads part of the statement.

However, the nomads have requested FAM to review the Mechanism that the local governing body use to solve dispute to address some of the gaps that teams face.

The latest verdict, shows that Wanderers will pay K22 million for damages caused at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe during the abandoned first leg against the central bankers.
