The Blantyre Magistrate Court sitting at Michiru Sanctuary in has adjourned the hearing case to 9 January 2024 involving four men who are suspected of committing various offences in the sanctuary.
Police prosecutor on wildlife crimes Hastings Kawerenga, identified the four as Adziwenji Jamu, Sajeni Maliyo, Justin Bokali.
The four are being accused of entering a protected area, conveying weapons inside a protected area without a permit and taking wild plants or producing charcoal.
The Court, was held at the sanctuary to see the place where the four suspects to drive a judgement according to the damage they did.
Meanwhile, many have lately been taking to the sanctuary largely to cut trees for various uses including charcoal production.
