The leader of the opposition in parliament, Kondwani Nankhumwa, who is also the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential hopeful, has warned the Peter Mutharika faction of the party against tampering with delegates to the convention.

Nankhumwa’s warning comes amid reports that the Party led by its leader Peter Mutharika is restructuring the party on the grass root level ahead of the elective conference.

Speaking during a media briefing his Luchenza residence in Thyolo district yesterday, said: “Should that faction continue with the plot, he will take the matter to court.”

He has also advised party ranks at district and constituency levels to maintain the list of delegates at the party’s last convention in 2018.

The opposition DPP is currently rocked up in leadership crisis with one faction calling for an early convention to iron out differences.

But Mutharika has rejected this plea on several times.
