17-year-old talent from the north, Panashe, known as Panashe Praise Simbowe, has released a reggae cover of the hit song “Mapulani” originally by Doc Namadingo.
Described as an upcoming star with an energetic and captivating voice, Panashe showcases her best in this rendition.
The cover is accompanied by captivating visuals from a stool session, excellently shot, with Panashe showcasing her skills. She sings confidently, giving the impression of someone who has been on the music scene for a long time.
Managed by Nic Thindwa, a Gospel/Hip-Hop artist based in the United Kingdom, Panashe’s music is a blend of Afropop, Afro reggae, and R’n’B, often addressing issues affecting women and children.
Writing on his Facebook page, Thindwa declared Panashe as Malawi’s next being thing and commended her for performing greatly on “Mapulani” reggae cover.
“This is the next big thing, please remember the name…my artist,17 year old Panashe all the way from kukaya kukaronga doing Mapulani reggae version, killing it as it supposed to be done,” wrote Thindwa on his Facebook page.
He also acknowledged Dr Namadingo the rights to the song.
“thanks Doc Namadingo for giving us the rights.”
Panashe has already performed on significant stages and collaborated with prominent artists and bands, including winning the 2022 Karonga Got Talent.
