Jenda police spokesperson Macfaren Mseteka on Wednesday has identified the deceased as Kellness Kajani who was in form 1 at Robert Laws secondary school.

Mseteka says on Christmas day the deceased allegedly left home in the morning for a drinking spree with her friends and came back close to midnight a thing which did not please her mother who advised her to stop drinking beer excessively.

This did not go well with the deceased who on boxing day parked her clothes in a bag as if she wanted to go to her uncle only for her body to be found dangling from a tree later in the evening.

Kellness Kajani hailed from Kamangadazi village in the area of Traditional Authority M’mbelwa in Mzimba.
