Senior Resident Magistrate Court in Mangochi has convicted and sentenced a 40-year-old Prophet and Founder of Supernatural Embassy Ministry to 19 Years imprisonment  for having sexual activity with his 16-year-old biological daughter.

Despite blaming his daughter for seducing him, self-acclaimed ‘Prophet’ identified as Christopher Phiri was convicted last week after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent assault and having sexual activity with his daughter.

The court heard that in November this year, rumours started circulating that the victim was being forced to perform wife duties.

And on November 28, Police were tipped by members of the community, which prompted them to summon the two separately for interrogations, leading to his arrest.

In mitigation, the convict asked for court’s leniency, saying he is a first offender and also blamed his daughter for seducing him.

But Senior Resident Magistrate Muhammad Chande sentenced Phiri to 19-years for having sexual activity with a minor and 13-years imprisonment with hard labour for indecent assault. All sentences to run concurrently.

Prophet Christopher Phiri hails from Manjawira Village, Traditional Authority Phambala in Ntcheu District.
