Airtel Africa plc Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun “Segun” Ogunsanya, says he will retire from his position from 1 July, 2024.

Ogunsanya, has been on the top position for the past 12 years with many successes to write at the telecommunications company including maintaining double-digit revenue growth over many quarters and to deliver new, innovative products to its customers across the continent.

The Company has since announced the appointment of Sunil Taldar as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer to succeed Ogunsanya.

Taldar, joined Airtel Africa in October 2023 as Director and will begin the transition to the CEO role, working alongside Ogunsanya.

In appreciation of his good work during his time on helm, Ogunsanya will now become the Airtel Africa Charitable Foundation’s inaugural Chair.

Airtel Africa recently disclosed that it has made a record reaching 150 million customers continentally.
