President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to be in Parliament in Lilongwe on February 9, 2024 for the official opening of the 2024-2025 National Budget Meeting of Parliament.
This has been confirmed in a statement from Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara addressed to all lawmakers in the country.
According to Hara, the budget meeting will run up to April 5 2024.
Currently, Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Simplex Chithyola Banda is conducting pre-budget consultations to solicit contributions from different stakeholders.
Chithyola Banda is today holding consultation meeting in the capital Lilongwe.
