Former Member of Parliament for Blantyre Kabula and spokesperson for United Transformation Movement (UTM) Felix Njawala has paid examination fees for all learners who are expected to seat for this year’s Primary School Certificate of Education (PSLCE) in Mwanza district.
The development comes barely days after it was revealed that over 29,000 students are not going to seat for Malawi national examination board (MANEB) this year.
This caused a public outcry with many asking for an extension of a period to pay for examination fees and MANEB in conjunction with Ministry of Education Science and Technology responded positively by extending the period by four days.
The development means that all learners in Mwanza District will write this year’s PSLCE examination.
Meanwhile, well-wishers led by social media influencer Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza and Winnie Nyondo, one of the media team for state Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima are mobilizing fans on social media to help needy students who are on the verge of not sitting for exams this year.
MANEB has set January 12, 2024 as a deadline.
