The lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered in the Bua River on January 11th in the Chilora area, under the jurisdiction of Chief Chakhaza in Dowa district.
According to Sergeant Macpatson Msadala, a spokesperson for the Mponela Police, the incident came to light when an individual visited the Bua River for fishing. Shockingly, the person found a deceased individual floating in the river and promptly reported the discovery to local authorities and the Madisi Police.
The police, originating from Mponela and medical personnel from Kasese arrived at the scene and confirmed that the death was due to suffocation.
Meanwhile, police are urging anyone with information about a missing relative to come forward and report to the Police.
