Deputy Director of Legal Affairs in the former governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Oscar Asima Taulo, has resigned from the position.
Taulo has confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local daily publications in the country.
He has cited family advice as the main reason for his action.

Taul has since handed over his resignation letter to Secretary General of the party and the party leader Peter Mutharika.
He has also withdrawn his candidature for the forthcoming party’s elective conference.
