In a targeted intelligence operation, law enforcement apprehended five individuals suspected of engaging in various criminal activities in Jenda township, Mzimba District.
Among the arrested suspects, three are linked to a witchcraft-related case at Kamangadazi village, where they allegedly destroyed the home of an elderly woman through accusations of sorcery.
The remaining two suspects face charges related to break-ins and assault, causing actual bodily harm in the Jenda area.
Jenda police publicist MacFarlane Mseteka emphasized the commitment to pursuing those who falsely accuse the elderly of witchcraft, ensuring they face legal consequences and protecting them from harm.
